Get ready, it's depressing.
It hits close to home for a lot of people, the whole growing old in suburbia and not being able to leave. The premise of the movie is that this couple was supposed to do great things, but they got stuck in the routine of life. They ended up having two kids and have another one on the way. Kate Winslet is at home taking care of the kids while Leonardo Dicaprio is working at a job he hates. They make plans to go to Paris, but everything goes against them.
It was really nice to see Kate Winslet and Leonardo Dicaprio together again after 12 years since the Titanic. After a few minutes of getting used to their dynamic as a married couple instead of a pair of lovers, I loved the two of them.
The movie was carried by their acting. It was more of a play, really. No special effects and no really dramatic songs, just the two of them in a house with two kids. It's so realistic, it's scary.
