The Ugg Illusion
I finally make the commitment. I'm going to invest the near 200 dollars into a new pair of winter boots, as they are essentials if you are trekking around Middlebury, Vermont in the winter.
So I go to the store, specifically Lord and Taylor's and look at all of the Ugg boots they have...and they have a lot, I thought. I try on a few pairs and fall in love with the Belfair Uggs in the "bouillon" color. They come in half sizes, too - perfect.
They does have my size in the store, but I don't look at that as a problem. Little do I know that I would spend almost 2 hours on every online store that sells Uggs to find this book in an 8 1/2. I give up and finally settle for the black belfair at zappos.com. This is the link to the boot.
It was not a very good first Ugg experience. The stores and websites that sell Uggs create an illusion that they have so many different styles and sizes, when, the boot on the display might be the only one they have. Even the official Ugg website only has extreme sizes in many boots. Why torment the customer? We're willing to pay up to 250 dollars for a pair of boots, at least give us the availability and means.
