Juliaca to Lake Titicaca

On your way to Lake Titicaca, don't plan to spend a long time in Juliaca. After riding around in a taxi for awhile to get from where the bus stops to cerro Colorado market, I have no desire to spend anymore time in the run down and frankly ugly city.
As a side note, the bathrooms at the cerro Colorado market are among the worst...ever. You pay 20 centimos for a whole in the ground that smells of urine and the meat they are slicing a few feet away at the market.
