La Estrellita Hostel

When you are in Cusco, check out the Estrellita hostel. It's located just a few blocks from the main squares in Cusco and it's one of the cheapest hostels you can find. For 15 soles, or 5 dollars, the Estrellita is clean and has a few bathrooms with hot water. The hostel is on the average side, but what makes it fantastic are the fried eggs they give you in the morning for breakfast (included!). If you're anything like me, you'll be craving anything but bread and jam in the morning in Peru.

Be careful to put on several layers before you go to sleep. The rooms can get very cold at night and the blankets they provide may not provide sufficient warmth.

Take a table from the kitchen outside in the morning, though, as the sun creeps its way into the open courtyard.
