Animal Kingdom for Adults

>> Thursday, December 11, 2008

If you have adult kids, make the first park on your list Animal Kingdon. Now that I"m older, I can better enjoy the animals, plant life and architecture.

You can't miss:

Expedition Everest: straps you in at the waist and takes you through Mout Everest, until the track breaks, at which point it launches you backwards. Something happens with a gorilla breaking a second track and you fly down the mountain. Generally smooth ride - a lot of fun but the story line is a little forced.

It's Tough to be a Bug: This 3D show introduces you to the bug world. Apart from giving me some interesting facts on bugs, I thought it wasn't a very good use of our time. The best part was the bugs crawling under the seats at the end.

Pangani Forest Exploration Trail: A must see. This walk-though zoo introduces you to a variety of animals, including monkeys, cockroaches, and gorillas/ Be sure to address questions to the staff - I've learned that they're really knowledgable and are sometimes overly willing to help.

Kilimanjaro Safari: I suggest making this your first stop. On this slow moving but adventury-feeling ride, you will see a plethora of animals including giraffes, elefants, and hipos.

Finding Nemo: I'm going to make a bold statement and say that this show is better than "Fantasmic." which is considered the best Disney Show. Actors sing, dance and fly with puppets to tell the story of Nemo.
