Reading on a Kindle, e Book Technology

I've had my kindle now for about a half a year and I thought I'd say a quick work about it on my blog. It definitely deserves a shout out.
I originally got my kindle for my 4 month trip to Chile, as I could not lug a bunch of books down there and I didn't know if I would have easy internet access. I figured that if I got lonely, I would just read a book in English on my kindle. It turned out that it wasn't a necessity on that trip, but I have no regrets about buying it.
Since returning from Chile, I've read my kindle on planes, trains, and beaches. It reads like a real book - it doesn't hurt my eyes at all, even after hours of reading. To bring the kindle out on the beach is nothing like taking out a lap top. There is no glare and you don't have to worry about flipping the pages and losing your spot.
The kindle is revolutionary. You can, however, tell that it's first generation. There is no color and the picture quality is low. It doesn't have gismos and gadgets and can't get more simple to use.
So the bottom line?: Get it. You'll use it. Trust me.
